Repair or replacement of the fascia board that carries the gutter and closes the roofline.
Back to the ABJ Roofing brand hub
Fascia is the board that runs along the roof edge, closes the end of the rafters and carries the gutter. It is structural in the sense that matters: when it softens, the gutter it holds begins to pull away.
Rot is usually secondary damage. Water that should have gone into a gutter has instead been running behind it, so fascia failure is a symptom of a gutter or roof edge problem and repairing the board without fixing the cause returns the same result a few seasons later.
Whether repair or replacement applies depends on how far the damage has travelled. Localized soft spots can be cut out and replaced; once the run has gone, or the damage has reached the soffit behind it, replacement of the section is the durable answer.
ABJ Roofing has worked in Wake Forest and the wider Triangle since 1993. Work is backed by a five-year workmanship warranty alongside the manufacturer's material warranties.
